🎓 Qualification: MSc/M.Tech in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related disciplines
💼 Key Responsibilities
🧪 Pre-Formulation Studies
-
Design and execute experiments to assess:
-
Solubility, pKa, log P
-
Dissolution, intrinsic dissolution
-
Bulk density, flow indices
-
Solid-state behavior and excipient compatibility
-
-
Analyze and interpret physicochemical data and particle properties.
💊 Preclinical Formulation Development
-
Develop and optimize preclinical formulations to support:
-
Lead identification and optimization
-
Clinical candidate selection
-
-
Formulation types include: solution, suspension, powder for constitution, capsule filling, and basic tablet formulations.
🔬 Analytical & Instrumentation Expertise
-
Operate and/or interpret data from:
-
Solid-state techniques: PXRD, MDSC, TGA, DVS
-
Microscopy tools: Polarized Light Microscopy, Hot-stage Microscopy
-
Particle & image analysis instruments
-
-
Experience with equipment like:
-
Particle size analyzers, HPLC, GC, Dissolution and Disintegration Apparatus is a big plus.

🧾 Scientific Communication & Documentation
-
Collate, analyze, and present scientific data clearly.
-
Contribute to internal and external technical discussions with well-grounded scientific insights.

Document all work in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and maintain Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
🧼 Operational & Safety Responsibilities

Maintain lab instruments and follow good laboratory practices (GLP).

Ensure chemical safety, perform risk assessments, and adhere to all safety protocols.

Use lean tools and SOPs for consistent lab operations.
🧠 Technical & Functional Expertise

Solid foundation in pre-formulation science and formulation strategies for early-stage drug development.

Ability to design experiments and interpret data from:

PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, FT-IR, BET
-
Chromatography (HPLC/GC), NMR, and dissolution studies
-

Hands-on experience in operating analytical instruments is highly desirable.

Exposure to clinical formulation development is a valuable asset.
